I am a Fairport HS and FCC alumni. I started rowing in my freshman year of high school, and continued rowing until I graduated from FHS in 2017 and for a few years while in college. After high school, I attended St. John Fisher College, and later transferred to RIT for computer science in 2017. I started coaching for the Rochester Boat Club. During my time at RBC I earned my USRowing Level I Coaching Certification, attended the Joys of Sculling conference, and had opportunities to coach all levels of rowing. I started coaching at FCC in the fall of 2023, and I’m very excited to have an opportunity to give back to the program that gave me so much when I was a rower. During the day, I work for Corning Fairport in the IT department supporting manufacturing and factory floor systems.

My name is Aleta. I am currently a graduate student at Nazareth University majoring in Music Education and Music Therapy. I am a coach here at Fairport and have been coaching with FCC since the Fall of 2023. This past year I was mainly the Novice Boy’s coach. Prior to coaching at FCC, from 2018-2023, I coached the modified sculling team, Novice and Varsity, as well as adult and youth learn-to-row at Cascadilla Boat Club. I began my rowing career at Cascadilla Boat Club in 2013 and rowed with them until graduation in 2018. While at Naz for undergrad, I was on the rowing team and was a captain for two years as a senior and grad student. This past summer, I had the opportunity to attend the NCAA Careers in Sports Forum in Indianapolis, and I recently obtained my USRowing Level II Coaching Certification. Outside of coaching, I sub in the Fairport and Penfield school districts, and am a lift operator at Bristol Mountain. I look forward to this season!
