Ongoing:
- Clean gutters at beginning of each season and end of fall season.
- Remove weeds growing in sidewalk and around metal fence (use string trimmer).
- Sweep cottonwood out of boathouse during spring season (when boats out on water).
- Sweep cobwebs from ceiling of porch and spray with “Home Defense”.
- Pull/cut down tall weeds on parking lot side of boathouse (watch out for poison ivy).
- Repair boat slings. – see Bruce Weick for instructions
- Once per season, clean and lubricate slides on boat lifts. (The only lubricant approved for this is “Triflow” located in tan cabinet that backs up to the workbench.)
- Twice per season clean and lubricate the padlocks that chain the launches to the docks. (WD40 is ok for this job)
- Rake the path from the parking lot up the hill if it gets rutted or washed down. Get free mulch from the town in the spring to spread on the hill.
- Sweep boathouse once a month and or before public events (can be assigned to rowers, work with coaches to schedule)
- Garbage and recycle removal. Periodically, remove garbage and recycling to take home and send out with your home materials. If garbage is messy dispose of in Morrell’s or the bowling alley dumpster (please do this sparingly as we do not have approval to do this on an ongoing basis.)
- Cans and bottles – label bags “Fairport Crew” and take to Can Kings and tell them to credit our ccount (you do not have to wait for them to count the cans)
- End of Fall season – Assist with Water shut off and draining pipes, follow check list.
- Beginning of Spring season – when frost concerns are over – reconnect pipes and turn water, follow check list.
Special Projects:
- See Bruce Weick or Dave Abrams for additional items to be addressed.
- Install 6 – 2 ft x 2 ft patio blocks under the bike rack to minimize trimming.
- Weed wack around the bike rack.
- Trim low branches once a year in the park area where we load the trailer.
- Replace worn bearings and fix damaged stops on pull out racks while boats are on the water. See Bruce for instructions.
- Repair woodpecker damage to siding with Bondo and paint.
